RE: URGENT
TO: CharlesSharpe@Sharpe.com FROM: MMacaleid@Regal.com
Good morning, Charles.
It's nice to speak with you as well, I'm sorry to have canceled our last luncheon. That raincheck still stands whenever you're free. I know you have many questions regarding Addison's situation, but given its chaotic nature, there was no rhyme or reason at the time. I was away for business when it happened, thankfully her staff helped her to the hospital before I arrived, along with Alastair. It was an unfortunate case of food poisoning, worsened by a bad interaction of meds. Sounds worrisome, I know, but trust that she's under the best care in a fine hospital. We meant to call you but it all got away from us in the moment, for which I apologize. I'll relay the message to Addison, she'll be happy to hear your good wishes. And that bouquet was very generous, thank you again.

URGENT
TO: MMacaleid@Regal.com FROM: CharlesSharpe@Sharpe.com
Dear Marc,
While it's a pleasure to keep the line open between us, I'm saddened under the terms of these circumstances. You have no idea the panic a parent suffers through hearing that their child lies in a hospital. It's been too long since I've seen, let alone heard from Addison as is; why was I not told of her condition? Has she been ill for long? Is this ongoing? I've only just heard from a colleague and can't seem to get a hold of anyone else other than Alastair. I'm off to a meeting in Berlin though my mind is swimming with questions. Please see that Addison is cared to, I'd be happy to tend to her any way I can. Or that she'll let me. Give her my love, Chelsea is worried as well.

Schedule changes
TO: MMacaleid@Regal.com FROM: SCavoy@Regal.com
Mr. Macaleid:
Since you had me shift around your schedule as requested, I've configured an appropriate compromise that I believe fits your interests. You will now have Fridays off, starting immediately. Not that you couldn't vacate any day as per your choice, of course. I've also taken the liberty of canceling the abroad flight meetings that I couldn't postpone, the details of which I've left on your desk in print. Nothing that can't be made up for, I assure you. You won't have to travel to Vancouver, Stockholm, Jakarta or Tokyo as originally planned for the remainder of the year. The rest of the staff is happy to take on further work, myself included, should we be assigned.
P.S.. One miss Bridget O'Neil is in town, inquiring about you.
- Serena Cavoy, secretary

Confirmation of purchase
TO: MMacaleid@Regal.com FROM: collections@abebooks.com
Item: The World and Continents - Five Maps HONDIUS, Henricus (1597-1651) and JANSSON, Jan (1588-1664)
Seller: Donald A. Heald
Price: $18,500
Lot number: 12170
Item condition: Excellent/5 stars
Item description: Copper-engraved maps, from the "Novus Atlas," German text edition. 19 5/8 x 23 1/4 inches. An excellent set of the World and Continents, by Hondius and Jansson, two of the Netherlands' greatest cartographers. This handsome set of the World and Continents comes from the 1649 German edition of Jan Jansson and Henricus Hondius' Novus Atlas, Das Ist: Welt-Beschreibung mit allerhand schönen newen auszführ lichen Taffeln Inhaltende Die Königreiche und Länder des gantzen Erdtreichs. This monumental work was the inheritor of the legacy of the great atlas first published in 1595 by Rumold Mercator, and later re-issued and revised by Jodocus Hondius and family. In 1630, Willem Blaeu dramatically entered the land atlas market, compelling Jansson and Hondius to mount this powerful reprise. The World map, Nova Totius Terrarum Orbis Geographica ac Hydrographica Tabula, originally dates from 1630, and is present here in the second state, dated '1641', but printed in 1649 using the same plate. It is richly decorated in Baroque style, and is most memorable for the four portraits that adorn it: Julius Caesar and Claudius Ptolemy, at the top; and Gerard Mercator and Jodocus Hondius Sr., at the bottom. Also featured are the four elements of Classical science, illustrated in accordance with Greek and Roman mythology. At the bottom of the composition, between the two hemispheres, are personifications of the four continents.

RE: 5 stars
TO: MMacaleid@Regal.com FROM: GrahamCannady@parcel103.com
Never a problem, my friend. There will be more premiers where that came from! We're booking practically through next year, the hostesses are going stark raving mad. Designer launch party coming up soon, models galore. A birthday bash for some rock star's kid. Album parties, movie sets, socialite's bachelorette party, even a fucking bar mitzvah! The paper's circling for reviews. I'm telling you.. next time go in on half with me! Pencil you in anytime, private booth. -GC & LV

TO: GrahamCannady@parcel103.com FROM: MMacaleid@Regal.com
Addison loved the to-go I brought home, the duck's a new favorite. Now that she's kicking her bug she can't wait to finally see Parcel for herself; the pictures didn't quite do it justice. She's still sorry about missing the opening, so prepare to be showered in gifts and bribes and apologies the next time we visit. Count us down for dinner the weekend after next, she's on a Chinese food binge right now. But I guess that's natural to happen after I've cooked for her all week. Keep that between us, I wouldn't want my secret talent to get out.

Three Times The Thanks
TO: MMacaleid@Regal.com FROM: ScottKane@VoightTech.org
Hey Mac, it was great seeing you last month at Columbia. Time really flies, doesn't it? What a brilliant way to propose, gathering the gang all together like old times. It seems like only yesterday I had the hair cut down to my shoulders, and we were smuggling that legendary flask into our ethics lecture, remember? Anyway, I wanted to thank you and Addison for the gift basket. That was very kind of you both, we're thrilled to hear from you by any means. If you're ever in Chicago, let us know so we can put you up. Cynthia and I received it yesterday, we're back home settling in with the new baby. Born on the fifteenth, 7lbs 9oz, she's got my eyes. We're calling her Rosanna.

Thanks again, much love from the Kanes -- Scottie, Cynthia and Rosanna

No calls, no video conferences. No US dates until 2014.
With all due respect, sir -- Cleveland is the better option from, say, Europe. We can fly you out early Saturday morning, seal the deal, then have you back by noon on your way to Baltimore. We'll get Addison there, as well.
~ Simon
RE: Cohler
TO: STiernan@Regal.com FROM: MMacaleid@Regal.com
Goddammit, of fucking course. Once he gets going you can't talk sense into the man, it's incredible luck that he even forgave the Seattle incident. Fortunately he's been married for thirty years so he knows a family emergency when he hears one.
But that doesn't change the fact of my unavailability next weekend. Addison and I will be arriving in Baltimore on Saturday, staying all of Sunday. I can't cancel that, it's been hard enough to persuade her without me suddenly going back on my word. Also, I've got meets with five groups on Friday, then I'm going after the healthcare proposal all of Monday. Any other possibilities?

Cohler
TO: MMacaleid@Regal.com FROM: STiernan@Regal.com
Luke Cohler is in Cleveland for only three days this month, from the twentieth to the twenty-second, before he'll cross back to home base in Austria. He demands to meet with you only despite my and Alexander's best compromises. Without a meeting he won't even consider Regal in the B Round. We'd practically be giving ResearchBridge over to Thiel Cap on a silver platter.

Hey kids. Roslyn and I are just now driving back from the cottage. With terrific weather staring us in the face all weekend, how could we resist? A few weeks from now let's hope for a generous snowfall -- ski season is right around the corner! :-) We'll be dragging you out to the slopes at least once this winter, we won't take 'no' for an answer. Did you know that old lodge is still standing, the one just outside of Schenectady? You'd remember if you saw it, it's been years. Anyway, my mind is already traveling a million miles ahead of me at the mention. You two come down anytime this week, we would love to have you. We hope to see you soon.
With love, Patrick P.S. Yes there will be pictures

Happy Halloween from CCBFNY!
TO: MMacaleid@Regal.com FROM: SujitSheth@childrenscbf.org
Hello Mr. Macaleid. I am e-mailing you now to inform you that the Szekely family immensely appreciates your generous contribution to dissolve Zara's medical expenses, as well as assisting in their financial crisis so that they may stay closer to their daughter in the city. Zara has improved since you last visited. She hopes to draw you a Halloween card, for which she plans to dress up as Minnie Mouse. The rest of our hospital staff will also be in character.
We will all be rooting for you in the marathon.
