ATHENA ELYSE OLIVERAS
Athena Elyse Oliveras (born 07/26/1989) is an American supermodel, businesswoman, and occasional actress. Daughter of retired professional surfer, Beau Oliveras, and former supermodel Elsie French Oliveras. She was the 2011, 2012, and 2013 Sports Illustrated Swimsuite Issue cover model, and was voted #1 on GQ's Hot 100 list of 2012. Notoriously known for catapulting from covers of swim issues to Vogue, CR, ID, and various other publications. Oliveras recently married high school sweetheart and LA Kings left wing Jameson Polshuk.

what, if anything, keeps you grounded?
To be honest, it takes a lot. I grew up with a mom who had no idea how to keep herself grounded, so there was no chance at a peaceful childhood I can look back to, or quiet home away, since I was a baby in Hawaii, then it turned into New York, Paris, Milan, LA.. So I guess at this point my husband, – which still feels surreal saying! – coming home to him, and the puppies, then a nice day in bed with no other obligations, that always brings me back down to a perfect, perfect reality.
would you rather relive your best moment or redo your worst mistake?
Easy. My best moment. Who wouldn’t want to be proposed to by the love of their life time and again?

what are you like when you're out of the spotlight?
I like to think I'm the same both in and out of it. I think it's important in this industry to stay true to yourself, and not to put on a show, no matter what other people are telling you to do. Right when I'd started modeling, my agent told me what to say, how to act, where to go, all of it.. it lasted for a few months, and realized I wasn't an actress, and it's not about putting on some big act. When you do things that way you start building up too many relationships under all of these false pretenses. So yea, I'd generally say the same. If anything though, I'm a bit more low key. I don't wake up and have someone do my hair and make up, and wear my heels around the house.
how do you think your team would describe working with you?
The teams are always changing up, depending on who I'm shooting or filming for. My personal team though.. Mae, my agent, Shelly, my make up artist, and Jason, my hair stylist, we're always having a good time. I think they'd say it depends on the day though. They've been with me since day one, so they've bared with me through it all. The good and the bad days. Every sleepless night or early morning I've had, at least one of them shared it. Those good days, they'd say I'm a natural, and professional. The bad ones on the other hand, they'd say things turned diva. That's the good part about such a tight knit team though, they know to laugh it off and I'll be back to normal eventually!
