"Newcomers- keep your eyes open and keep networking. You can't be a two liner on Law & Order forever if you really want to get somewhere in this industry. Keep building your contacts. Meet people, network...take advantage of social networks. Who you know will get you where you need to be in this world. The more people you know, the better it'll be for you. Once you have talent and you know the right people...the rest will come easily."
what, if anything, keeps you grounded?
My family. They've always taught me to be humble, and I keep that in mind.
would you rather relive your best moment or redo your worst mistake?
Redo my worst mistake. Getting engaged so young and so fast was just that- my worst mistake.
where's your escape from the city?
Miami. It's a quick flight out, and the sight of clear beach water alone relaxes me.
what are you like when you're out of the spotlight?
The same, I think. I'm a pretty straight forward girl in front of the cameras and away from them. I see no need to change.
how do you think your team would describe working with you?
I could be a bitch when I'm ready- especially when I don't have my morning tea.
were there any deciding moments in your career?
After winning my first Academy Award at 25; I think it just made me realize that this is truly what I want to do. It reminded me that pursing acting after Brown was the right decision after all.
any inside details on your latest project?
I'm back in New York and focusing on myself for a while. Ready to see what the city has to offer me.

I grew up in the life that most people envy. Lavish, to say the least. Living in the Upper East Side, fancy dinners, Summer's in Paris, designer clothes, brunches with the elite. I was born into a wealthy family- all the way back to our Irish roots. My father, Liam O'Neil, was a wealthy investment banker- still is, who made a lot of connections in this city thanks to his own parents. My mother, Tara O'Neil, was a socialite, but came from a family that was also well off- who was also involved in stocks and banking. The two met through mutual friends- hit it off, and fell genuinely in love. Say what you want about the rich couples of Manhattan. Call them fake, plastic, whatever you'd like...but be aware that is not my parents. To this day the two are happily married, and their love is the truest thing I know. But anyway- from that true love came me, their first and only child. I never really felt like an only child though, I come from a huge family with tons of cousins, and we all grew up amongst one another. I wouldn't say we grew up close to one another, but we all had to get along at the various events we had to go to due to our parents. I went to the Trinity School, which took me all the way up to 12th grade. The school was for the 'elite of Manhattan', so all of the kids came from relatively similar backgrounds. I never got close to many there- the girls were all too catty for my liking, so I stayed to myself for the most part and continued to excel in my schoolwork. I did date in high school- Marc Macaleid, who's family was extremely close to mine in the way of business and work. My family liked him for me, his family liked me for him. They encouraged us to continue dating, and they truly saw a future in us, whether it was genuine or not. You know how things get with business, messy and complicated, anything to promote a deal. As much as my parents knew it was for the deal- they saw my happiness with Marc, too. I was young and blinded by 'love', so when he proposed to me senior year, I accepted. We were engaged for less than a year before he ended things. It honestly didn't hit me as hard as I thought it would...I felt empty for a while, sad, almost abandoned. I knew things had to go on in my life, so I continued...I went on to study Psychology at Brown. Being away from the city definitely helped me get over things- I hadn't realized how much I had began to picture a bit of a life with Marc, even if it was young and stupid; I did see us being happy one day. But I coped- realized how utterly in over my head I was, and graduated with a bachelors from Brown. My engagement became a distant memory- and now I thank him for not allowing me to become just a socialite wife like my mother. I knew acting was truly what I wanted to purse, and while studying in Rhode Island those four years, I was taking light acting classes whenever I could. Only to sharpen my skills, of course. I moved back to New York, went back to living in Manhattan. My father and mother supported my dream fully- especially since they encouraged such a "sad excuse of an engagement." They got me the best agent you could hire and eventually I was doing photo shoots and casting calls all over New York and even LA. I did small to medium work until I got casted in Justice League- as Wonder Woman. It was quite the controversy for a while, everyone was talking about how I hadn't proved myself enough for such a huge role- that it wasn't safe. Turns out I nailed the role of Diana, got nominated and won an Oscar for it at the bare age of 25. It all happened extremely fast- my status in the industry went up instantly, opinions on me did 360s, and I secured my spot in Hollywood. 2 years later and here I am, back in New York, ready to see what the city has to offer me again.
